Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Understanding of all types of oil & an in-depth understanding of the details and techniques used to recover each of the several types of oils ranging from heavy oil used aboard naval and commercial vessels to highly Volatile aviation fuels; 2) Knowing technical aspects of recovery of oil from water as well as land; 3) Comprehending knowledge of the maritime protocols including navigation lights, fog signals and day shapes appropriate for various conditions and proper action of stand-on and give-way vessels, good seamanship practices and current U. S. Coast Guard regulations pertaining to safe boat operations. You will serve as a Small Craft Operator in the Naval Facilities Engieneering Command Mid-Atlantic (NAVFAC MIDLANT) of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
