Minimum Qualification Requirements You may meet the minimum qualifications for the GS-09, if you possess the specialized experience. Specialized Experience for the GS-9 One year of experience in either federal or non-federal service that is equivalent to at least a GS-07 performing two (2) out of three (3) of the following duties or work assignments: 1. Experience working in diverse environments and monitoring education services. 2. Experience reviewing and analyzing education policies. 3. Experience providing financial management support in both written and verbal formats. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). You do not need to provide separate narrative responses to these KSAs, as they will be measured by your responses to the occupational questionnaire (you may preview the occupational questionnaire by clicking the link at the end of the Evaluations section of this vacancy announcement). 1. Ability to anticipate issues, conceptualizes, and executes strategies to support grant management and provide technical assistance to grantees. 2. Ability to resolve basic problems or issues by application of precedents or established methods and practices. 3. Ability to work effectively with project managers, evaluate deliverables, and provides feedback and guidance. 4. Knowledge of professional education principles and techniques used in the evaluation of proposals and projects for improved education. 5. Ability to communicate orally and in writing to convey technical information, analyses, findings and recommendations.
The position is telework eligible consistent with the Agency’s telework and remote work program policy. This position is located in the Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education, Higher Education Program in Washington, DC. This position performs professional work for an educationally related program directed towards improving American education.
