Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE, and performing common tasks as a Rigger Leader including: (1) Demonstrating working knowledge and understanding of rigging for moving, securing or putting down a load, while using the appropriate mechanical shifting equipment (e.g., Cranes, Hoists, Chain Blocks, Winch Systems, etc.); (2) Providing leadership and technical oversight of non-supervisory employees in similar rigging trade or different trades working as an installation, repair, and clean up team on a variety of tasks requiring lifting, moving, and positioning heavy machines, equipment, large structural parts and other heavy items; (3) Exercising responsibility in meeting completion dates, troubleshooting, diagnosing problems, writing reports, and providing liaison between various personnel in support of assigned projects; (4) Ensuring safety and housekeeping rules are followed; (5) Answering questions of workers on procedures, policies, instructions, or other directives; and (6) Providing training to personnel in new techniques, theory of operation, determination of proper rigging used, and safety procedures for variety of assignments. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. You work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
