Other Duties/ Responsibilities Records and edits video to produce short-form video products. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and customers. Effectively communicates with a diverse group of subjects and provides clear direction in a respectful manner. Required Work Experience Five (5) years of experience working as a professional photographer/ videographer. Required Special Skills/ Knowledge Knowledge of photographic principles including the framing and practices of photographic shoots. Skill in accurately assessing color, density, and contrast in photographic images with acute attention to detail. Demonstrated skill with the Adobe suite and Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, and the Microsoft Office suite, on PC and Apple platforms. As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of and experience with mirrorless cameras, video and audio equipment and editing software (Adobe suite) to capture and produce short form video products. Knowledge of photographic principles including composition, lighting, and technical techniques. Prioritizes requests appropriately and manages daily workflow effectively and accurately. Solves problems in the moment, diplomatically handles challenging and sensitive situations. Self-motivated with effective problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. Schedule fluctuates and is expected to work early mornings, late evenings and weekends, with little to no notice. Some traveling may be required. Serves as back-up to the Photographic Services Supervisor in their absence. Moderate (carrying of items less than 50 pounds). Work requires employee to be outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Work requires frequent physical effort walking, bending, crawling, standing for long durations. Working on ladders, scaffolding, or stages. Working in confined spaces (bending and crawling).
