Who May Apply: US Citizens THIS IS A DIRECT HIRE SOLICITATION – These positions are being advertised through the Direct Hire Authority (DHA) for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce. Under this authority, competitive rating/ranking and veterans’ preference procedures do not apply. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Electromotive Equipment Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common repair and overhauls Alternating Current/Direct Current (AC/DC) electrical driven warehouse equipment. I can replace worn or defective parts; installing piston rings, pistons, crankshafts, main bearings, rod bearings, camshaft bearings; facing and reseating valves, adjusting valves and replacing valve guides; overhauling and repair of alternators and starting motors: rebuilding of hydraulic cylinders, jacks, wheel cylinders, master cylinders. Answer service calls. Make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment in field/shop location as needed. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: Work requires standing, stooping, bending, walking, lifting and working in cramped positions. Frequently lifts parts and equipment that weigh up to 75 pounds. Assistance is available for heavier items. Close hand eye coordination is required in precision work. Working Conditions: Works outside and inside in a drafty building on concrete floors. Is exposed to dirt, dust, grease, fumes and noise from equipment. Equipment fluids may cause burns or irritation to skin. There is exposure to cuts, bruises, burn and strains. Employee is required to wear safety footwear, eye protection, hearing protection, protective gloves, face shield, and other protective equipment furnished by the employer as a condition of employment when engaged in tasks, which require the wearing of personal protective clothing and equipment in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

About the Position: This position will be impacted by a Reduction In Force (RIF) within the next 3-5 years, due to closure of the organization. Impacted employees will be assessed for all eligible RIF benefits should that occur.
