Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Laundry Worker will be exposed to repetitive motion of arms, wrist, and hands and is required to perform simple grasping and fine hand manipulation, reaching outward and above the shoulder, lift soiled linen bags up and onto soiled linen carts and frequent stooping, bending, twisting and kneeling, standing, walking, sitting. Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds. Must be able to stand and walk consistently, perform light to moderate bending and stooping, and able to wear PPE for extended period of time as dictated by the work setting. Will be involved with the loading, unloading, and transporting clean and soiled linen carts weighing up to 700 pounds.
This position is located within the Textile Care Processing Facility of the Environmental Management Services Division within Veterans Healthcare System of the Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System, Biloxi, Mississippi. This position is under the direct supervision of the Textile Care Manager or designee.
