In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above. NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA’s unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement. To qualify for GS-15, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Leading or managing a team of engineers/scientists and administrative staff to provide high-end computing, aerosciences, and related resources for NASA and external stakeholders; Providing technical oversight and project management in relation to the planning, design, test and evaluation to provide quality super-computing capabilities within time and cost constraints; Leading or providing technical guidance on professional, scientific, or technical work concerned with engineering projects for facilities, systems, processes, equipment and devices. As the Division Chief of the NASA Advanced Supercomputing Division, you will be responsible for policies, procedures, operations schedules, resources, cybersecurity, and facility requirements. You will lead a team of engineers and scientists to provide world-class high-end computing, aerosciences, and related resources to NASA scientists and engineers who are making breakthrough scientific discoveries, advancing the Nations airspace, developing next generation Space exploration systems.
