Only experience and education obtained by 11/01/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification for this grade level. Minimum Qualification [GS-06] One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-5 in the Federal service. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: performing biological studies for determining the manner and extent to which avian populations are affected by management activities; conducting avian surveys; responsibility for field camp logistics; participating in the development of work plans and schedules; leading small groups of technicians and providing the necessary training in techniques and procedures; and any other work that is performed in a controlled environment which includes research activity or control program work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is a Biological Science Technician (Avian), GS-0404-6 working in Homer Alaska for the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge.
