SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: As a UTILITY SYSTEMS REPARIER OPERATOR, incumbent must have the ability to do the work without more than normal supervision. Skills and knowledge to perform electrical, pump repair, valve maintenance and repair, mechanical repair of trash racks etc., with only general supervision subject to occasional inspection. Troubleshoot and take initiative to solve problems and accomplish work assignments in a safe manner; knowledge of a variety of technical trade terminology, tools, and equipment in more than one area; strong work ethic, dexterity and perform strenuous work as required by the position; ability to use a computer, maintain records, and perform simple arithmetic calculations. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Job Qualifications System for Trades and Labor Occupations (X-118C, Qualification Standard Handbook) will be used in determining applicants’ qualifications. There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through the experience shown in your written resume and your responses to the Occupational Questionnaire that you possess the competencies to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision.
