Examples of related/qualifying Experience: Processing beef, pork, veal and lamb into varying types and size of steaks and roasts to include special order crown roast into retail and ready to eat cuts . Using tools common to the trade to include handsaws, bone dusters, electric saws, meat tenderizers, slicers, and grinders. Leading and instructing subordinates in specific tasks and job techniques. Monitoring employees work schedule, performance, conduct and training needs You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Physical requirements: (1) Walking and standing continuously while working. Frequently lifts, pushes, and pulls boxes of primal or subprimal meat weighing 25 pounds or more. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire. Work environment: Works in cold temperatures of 50 degrees or less. Subject to substantial temperature changes in performance of duties inside and outside chill rooms. Occasionally exposed to temperatures as low as minus 10 degrees or colder when transferring items to and from freezer rooms. Cold weather clothing, protective equipment, and special clothes are provided. Subject to cuts and injuries from knives, power cutting saws and blades, and danger of falling on wet, slippery floors.
