Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Sheet Metal Mechanic ~ without more than normal supervision: develop simple, common patterns, lay out, cut, form, join, assemble, and install items and systems for building and construction such as heating, air-conditioning, and ventilation pipes, conduits, gutters, ducts, flashing, safety guards, roof jacks, drain tops, shower wall sections, and other items and systems. I assemble parts by seaming, bolting, screwing, riveting, tacking, spot-welding, or soldering- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. PHYSICAL EFFORT: Physical exertion is considerable, and the employee is exposed to long periods of continuous exertion when bending and shaping the more complex items and in constructing large and bulky items. Duties normally include prolonged standing, climbing up and down ladders and scaffolding, reaching, lifting, bending, and working in cramped and awkward positions. Frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 pounds is required. WORKING CONDITIONS: Employee works both inside and outside and is subject to a moderate amount of noise and vibration from shop machines, hand tools, and to a variety of weather conditions. Employee is subject to cuts, bruises, falls, and burns.
