In order to qualify, you must meet the SPECIALIZED experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standard for Administrative and Management Positions. GS-07: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-05, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience include planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR Education: Successfully completed 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate or master’s degree that is directly related to the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts. GS-09: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least two (2) years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree in a major directly related to the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: combination of specialized experience and education as described above. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education to meet the qualifications of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. GS-11: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes Examples of specialized experience includes Planning, organizing, coordinating, supervising, or evaluating community, industrial, outdoor, institutional, or other recreational programs. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed at least three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE: You must submit copies of your official transcripts OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: I have a combination of specialized experience and education as described above. Therefore, I have a combination of experience and education to meet the qualifications of the position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts with your application. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures used to manage outdoor recreational activities. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge of procedures to assist in developing and executing both APF and NAF budgets for a specific outdoor recreation program. 4. Skill in effectively organizing and utilizing all available community resources within the specific program framework. 5. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an activity within the scope of Outdoor Recreation. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
