EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (WEIGHT HANDLING EQUIPMENT PROGRAM MANAGER)

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Serves as the subject matter expert on weight handling equipment (WHE) operations, maintenance, testing, inspections, certification, crane and rigging: 2) Receives, disseminates, and clarifies all Navy Crane Center (NCC) directives; 3) Develop and audit the policies that enhance WHE operations and maintenance best practices and improve employee safety; 4) Provides oversight and guidance for the standardization and implementation of WHE, material handling equipment, rigging gear, operations, maintenance, inspections, engineering, and certification requirements when FRCSW is the certifying activity; 5) Provide detailed reviews of all crane maintenance, training, inspection and certification documentation prior to certification, periodic field surveillances of the program, and the processing of crane certification extension requests; 6) Manages administration of CAT2 and CAT3 operator certification in ASM; 7) Establish and monitor programs and steering metrics to include recording and reporting on the frequency of crane lifts, crane accidents, unplanned occurrences, near misses and crane availability; 8) Reviews technical information from manufacturers and other sources and works with engineering to interpret and adapt this information for local applications.
