If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is developing and implementing policy; standards, and procedures for Personnel Security/Suitability and researching, analyzing, and evaluating information involving personnel security/suitability. Such experience should include conducting or initiating personnel security/suitability investigations; developing information and applying significance of information to adjudicative determinations, communicating orally and in writing with a diverse group of individuals.
As a Personnel Security Specialist you will develop and implement policies and procedures for analyzing and evaluating the character, background, and history of employees, candidates for employment, and other persons having or proposed to be granted access to classified or other sensitive information, materials, or work sites. Location of position: Personnel Security Branch, Office of Mission Assurance, Washington, DC.
