To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/05/2024. Specialized Experience for GS-13: To qualify for the Supervisory Field Examiner, GS-1801-13 position, you must have at least one 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience in a multifaceted program of services, management programs, and budget/fiscal and administrative operations for a federal office. Specialized Experience is defined as: Preparing administrative study findings, recommendations, plans and reports; Providing advice on programs and procedures pertaining to the budget, and other finance program activities; Presenting position papers and technical presentations to top management or the public involving finance program issues; Conducting independent evaluations of finance functions; Preparing and monitoring complex budgets and resolving financial management issues. Time-in-grade for GS-13 Applicants who are/were federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. For a GS-13 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-12 level. To support your claim of time in grade, you must submit your most recent appointment, promotion, or within grade increase SF-50 (not an award or general adjustment SF-50). Some applicants may have to submit more than one SF-50 to demonstrate their eligibility. See the required documents section for more information. Note: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. As a Supervisory Financial Administrative Specialist you will serve as the Supervisor for the Finance Section, Support Services Division (SSD), for the Regional Office (RO). The primary purpose of the work is to manage and direct the operations of the Finance Section, Accounting Unit and Operations Unit. Provides management and operating officials advice on all financial matters, and to prepare, present, and execute the RO budget.
