In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, GS-1712, Training Instructor series + IOR. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: **THIS IS A COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF THE AIR FORCE (CCAF) POSITION**** Section 9315 of 10 USC directs the commander of the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) to comply with standards established by the Secretary of Education to confer associate degrees upon enlisted members who have completed the requirements for the prescribed programs of study. To comply with this directive, all faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), i.e. all teachers must hold at least an associate’s degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of training administration, policies and procedures to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, adjust, and direct work functions to meet program requirements and objectives of a small to medium sized organization. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.M with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of training administration, policies and procedures to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. 2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. 3. Ability to plan, organize, adjust, and direct work functions to meet program requirements and objectives of a small to medium sized organization. 4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 5. Knowledge of instructional design, materials development, test and measurement principles, techniques and objectives. 6. Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of instruction and training aids and devices used in training programs. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Advanced Systems and Concept Training Flight, Undergraduate Cyber Training courses. To instruct in initial skills courses utilizing approved curriculum in support of the Undergraduate Cyber career field.
