You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience required: One year of specialized experience which includes experience assisting with oversight of a military housing programs; implementing programs and corrective measures for military housing management problems associated with large annual transition rates; and, resolving complex housing program management issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Housing Management Program Administration Housing Operations Oral Communication Writing Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11). Position may be filled by a current permanent Army employee as a temporary promotion not to exceed 3 years (extendable to 5 years) or by detail, if the position is considered a reassignment for the selectee. Return placement rights must be negotiated and documented prior to an official final job offer. The competitive temporary promotion may be made permanent without further competition contingent upon verification of the incumbent’s non-competitive eligibility (must be a 30% veteran, reinstatement eligibility etc., under the competitive service). This is an obligated position under 10 U.S.C 1586. An “obligated” position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s). Obligated positions may also cover employees who have been on extended leave without pay under certain circumstances.

About the Position: This is a TERM NTE 36 months position as a Supervisory Housing Management Specialist Directorate of Public Works, Fort Jackson, SC. This position will be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary detail ONLY and is open to applicants internal to the Dept of Army ONLY. This is an obligated position.
