To qualify for the Interdisciplinary General Engineer/Architect GS-0801-801 position, you must meet the following qualification requirement: Education Requirement for the Engineer GS-0801-13 A. I qualify for this position because I have a bachelor’s degree in professional engineering from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum. OR B. I qualify for this position because I have a bachelor’s degree in professional engineering that includes differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced that first-year physics and chemistry) in 5 of the following 7 areas of engineering science or physics: (1) statics, dynamics; (2) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (3) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (4) thermodynamics; (5) electrical fields and circuits; (6) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (7) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR C. I qualify for this position because I am registered as a professional engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. OR D. I qualify for this position because I am currently registered as an Engineering Intern (EI) or an Engineer in Training (EIT). OR E. I qualify for this position because I have successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. OR F. I qualify for this position because I have successfully completed at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of a professional engineering curriculum as described above. OR G. I qualify for this position because I have successfully completed a curriculum that led to a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology OR in an appropriate professional field, e.g., physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology AND I have at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Basic Requirement for the Architect GS-0808-13 A. I qualify for this position because I have a degree with a major in architecture. OR B. I qualify for this position because I possess a degree in a related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems. OR C. I qualify for this position because I have a combination of education and experience-college-level education, training, and/or technical experience as demonstrated by at least one of the following: Related Curriculum: I have a degree in architectural engineering with course work covering function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities OR; Experience: I lack a degree in architecture but have l year of experience in an architect’s office or in architectural work for each year short of graduation from a program of study in architecture. In the absence of college courses, I have 5 years of such experience. Additional Qualifications You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: providing technical engineering services and architectural services for the construction, renovation, or improvement of buildings and facilities; managing facilities design and construction projects and contracts; developing or reviewing specifications and requirements for facilities design and construction projects; and assessing and ensuring compliance of facilities programs and projects with regulations and requirements.
