BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Bachelor’s or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Must submit transcripts or document the education in your application documents. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, GS-0601-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience in providing direct patient care in the health care professions such as a Medical Doctor, Pharmacist, Nurse, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or allied health field. Advanced knowledge of Clinical Informatics and Health Care Information Technology. Served as senior technical expert and consultant for a highly integrated complex Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, developing software, management in software customization, planning and conducting training of complex software systems, in the concepts of operation of the module integration including how the modules integrate with each other for patient data. Provided supervisory guidance in patient care related training. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
This position serves as the primary advisor for the Phoenix Area on all aspects of healthcare informatics and is located at the Phoenix Area Office, in Phoenix, AZ. The incumbent works as a part of a multidisciplinary team to create strategy and consensus that brings area health and technical activities together in a single informatics strategy to improve healthcare services. The primary duties are providing oversight and subject matter expertise for healthcare information systems.
