Research Physical Scientist (Research Associate)

This position requires a Ph.D in soil, plant or environmental science that has equipped the applicant with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Basic Qualification Requirement GS-1301: Applicants must meet basic Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standard’s requirements of the scientific discipline necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. GS-1301: Degree: physical science, engineering, or mathematics that included 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science such as mechanics, dynamics, properties of materials, and electronics. or Combination of education and experience — education equivalent to one of the majors shown in A above that included at least 24 semester hours in physical science and/or related engineering science, plus appropriate experience or additional education. Position experience requirements: Making greenhouse gas emissions measurements in cropping systems. Project management, soil and plant sampling. Managing data and QA/QC of data. Good organizational skills. Ability to work independently.
This position is located with USDA, ARS, Pacific West Area (PWA), Northwest Irrigation & Soils Research Laboratory (NISRL) in Kimberly, ID providing research program support to the location Research Scientist. **ANNOUNCEMENT IS OPEN UNTIL FILLED OR DECEMBER 31, 2024**
