INTEGRATED PRIMARY PREVENTION OFFICER (PREV WF)

Minimum Requirement: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field that included at least 24 semester hours of course work in the behavioral or social sciences. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. NOTE: To qualify using education as a basis of qualifications you must submit a copy of your transcripts. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience which is directly related to the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position. GS-13 -Must have at least 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Experience, education or training analyzing problems, identifying significant factors, gathering pertinent data and recognizing solutions; preparing reports, plans, policies and various correspondence; evaluating objectives and develop plans to facilitate the availability and effective utilization of various social science resources. Must have knowledge of the organization and its mission and utilized the organizational staff procedures. Experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of social science program operations carried out by administrative or professional personnel, or substantive administrative support functions. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification. Your record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the following knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position: – Knowledge of Primary Prevention efforts.- Knowledge of social-ecological systems theory. – Knowledge and experience in the organization, management, and administration of programs and services to develop and administer Primary Prevention policies; ensure policy relates to applicable legislation, official policy and guidance to effectively direct, plan, develop and execute the Primary Prevention Program. – Skill in development and maintenance of public understanding and sound working relationships with Federal, State, local and community agencies.- Skill in applying professional community organization abilities related to the formulation of needs assessments, development of prevention programs, and the marketing of programs. -Knowledge of research, analytical and evaluative techniques and methods (and the ability to adapt as appropriate) to analyze reports, gather data, review suggestions, and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the National Guard Primary Prevention efforts sufficient to develop solutions to situations not normally encountered; to recognize and define social problems, to reach accurate conclusions, and to measure and improve program effectiveness and productivity, and make recommendations for program improvement at the State and National Level. – Expert Knowledge of complex helping systems and professional organizations, how they positively or negatively affect individual and family welfare, and the multiple ways these systems and organizations operate to deliver services. -Excellent skills in oral and written communication to include report writing and maintaining proper records to document services provided. – Expert knowledge of and skill in planning, conducting and evaluating the State Primary Prevention training programs. – Knowledge of policies and requirements for the development and analysis of the Prevention Programs efforts in order to integrate effective prevention measures for the S/T/DC. – Knowledge of automated data systems to maintain information. – Knowledge of analytical techniques to identify, analyze and/or recommend solutions to problems encountered and to develop Statistical data and narrative reports to senior levels of leadership.
