Applicants must meet all qualification and eligibility requirements by the closing date of the announcement including time-in-grade restrictions, specialized experience and/or education, as defined below. Specialized Experience GS-8: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-7) or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent in the public sector. Specialized experience for this position includes: 1.) Experience utilizing payroll/personnel systems and subsystems. 2.) Experience creating/preparing financial and administrative documents. 3.) Experience providing assistance to team members in resolution of payroll and personnel processing problems. NOTE: This experience must be demonstrated on your resume/supporting documents. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Merit promotion applicants holding or having held a GS position in the past 52 weeks must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements. One year at the GS-7 is required to be eligible for the GS-8. Time-in-Grade requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement. Applicants MUST submit an SF-50 that illustrates time-in-grade and reflects title, series, and grade. No Award SF-50 will be accepted. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, National Finance Center, Government Employees Services Division, Government Insurance and Collections Directorate, Government Insurance Services Branch in New Orleans, LA. The incumbent of this position serves as a Unit Supervisor responsible for performing a variety of clerical and technical duties.
