Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Conducting, scoping and planning multidisciplinary research activities; 2) Developing of organizational funding requirements and budget estimates; 3) Managing research, development, and investigation activities in support of the Department of Defense (DOD); 4) Planning, integrating and/or reviewing Research and Development business requirements of the organization; 4) Developing, recruiting, training, and supervision of people to effectively and efficiently execute the mission. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DB-05 (GS-15). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. This announcement MAY be used to fill like vacancies six months from the closing date. All qualification requirements, including time after competitive appointment, must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. This position is covered by the Science and Technology Laboratory Personnel Management Demonstration Project at the DB-XXXX-06 (equivalent to above the GS-15). In accordance with the Federal Register Vol.63, No. 57, dated March 25, 1998, and employee of the Laboratory Demonstration project must have a current average performance score of 2.5 or above in order to be selected for promotion. All applicants currently employed under a Laboratory Demonstration Project must include their most recent performance appraisal score as part of their electronic resume. About the Position: This position is located with the U.S. Army Research and Development Center (ERDC), Information Technology Laboratory (ITL), Office of the ERDC Deputy Chief Information Officer (OCIO).
