Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirement as noted below: Specialized Experience at the GS-12 Level: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: 1. Applying knowledge of administrative laws and/or regulations applicable to the organization to ensure compliance in all administrative processes and operations. 2. Responding to customer inquiries regarding various administrative issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution. 3. Preparing and writing comprehensive reports that analyze data from various administrative systems. 4. Conducting regular and ad-hoc audits of administrative systems, such as payroll, travel, and financial management systems, to verify data accuracy and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards. Specialized Experience at the GS-13 Level: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing (3) of the (4) duties listed below: 1. Serving as the focal point for integrating and coordinating the overall administrative functions for an assigned office. 2. Advising on all aspects of human resources (HR), travel, organizational development, time and attendance, property management, purchase card programs and/or other administrative services. 3. Evaluating existing administrative processes, evaluating alternative solutions, and/or recommending appropriate courses of action. 4. Utilizing personnel policies, procedures, and/or resources to identify, research, or make recommendations regarding personnel issues. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited. Time-in-Grade Requirement: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet “time-in-grade” requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying).
