You may qualify based on your experience and as described below: GS-6 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS5 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA’s) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: Determines eligibility/entitlement of all applicants using various methods, systems, and programs. receives visitors, screens telephone calls and determines, by nature of the inquiries, which are to be referred to other staff members. Conducts Interviews with applicants for medical benefits in person and over the phone Has a good rapport with internal and external customers and other stakeholders Processes incoming and outgoing mail. The purpose of the position of the position is to serve as Patient Services Assistant for the Enrollment and Eligibility Unit of the Health Administration Service (HAS) at the Orlando VA Medical Center (OVAMC). The OVAMC currently consist of a medical center, two (2) outpatient clinics, and four (4) community-based outpatient clinics. The scope of services encompasses a comprehensive range of clinical subspecialties.
