LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirement per the individual, single agency qualification standard for Department of Defense positions: Applicants must possess, or be in possession of before the hiring date, a bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees. FOR THE GS-07 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interpreting the functions, processes, and principles of logistics management, and knowledge of the methods used to gather, analyze, and evaluate information; 2) Identifying and documenting ways to improve logistics management effectiveness. FOR THE GS-09 (or equivalent pay band): Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ability to gather facts, define problems, and explore alternative solutions; 2) Assists in implementing approved solutions or actions; 3) Prepares and presents written and oral reports on assigned tasks; 4) Analyzes contract data requirements for assigned logistics areas to determine effectiveness and usefulness. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
