Biological Science Technician

Only experience and education obtained by the closing date 11/18/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification [GS-06] One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Examples of specialized experience may include: Conduct vegetation studies; apply herbicides; conduct surveys of wildlife and/or waterfowl; capture, handle, and tag a variety of wildlife; use various computer software to enter biological data into existing databases; gather biological data, evaluate data and present findings in report form. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
This position is a Biological Science Technician, GS-0404-6 working in Seneca Falls, New York for the R5-Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge. This is a term position expected to last 13 months but may be extended up to a total of 4 years at managements discretion.
