HOW TO QUALIFY: Eligible applicants must meet the following qualification requirements. All applicants must meet the 0511 Performance Auditing Series Individual Occupational Requirements: Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. NOTE: Transcripts are required to substantiate education. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant’s background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. Additionally, applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include all of the following: Developing new audit programs to accomplish performance audit objectives. Conducting performance audits of a Federal agency’s programs, in accordance with government auditing standards. Developing audit findings and recommendations. Drafting audit reports that comply with government auditing standards. Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. The incumbent serves as a Lead Auditor in the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), Office of Audit (OA) under the general direction of a Division Director. The incumbent leads a team of auditors (GS-13 and lower grades) in completing complex evaluations, reviews, and audits of the Social Security Administrations (SSA) programs and operations
