Program Examiner

In order to qualify for the Program Examiner position, you must meet the following minimum qualifications: FOR THE GS-12 LEVEL: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, performing all of the following duties: Assisting with drafting written products that demonstrate analyses, policy or program options, and implications; Presenting recommendations to higher-level decision makers on a variety of different policy or program issues; Applying analytical methods or similar operations, policies, or procedures to complete assigned work; and Assisting with qualitative and quantitative analysis of homeland security program, policy, or budgetary issues to propose solutions to problems. (Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.) FOR THE GS-13 LEVEL: Specialized Experience: Applicants must have at least one or more full-time years (12-months) of specialized work experience, equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, performing the following duties: Drafting and presenting written products that demonstrate complex analyses of policy, program, or budgetary options and implications, and provide recommendations; Applying analytical or similar operations, policies, or procedures to complete work; Developing strategies to improve the effectiveness of programs or program operations; Utilizing qualitative and quantitative analytical methods related to homeland security program, policy, or budgetary evaluation to identify significant factors, alternative solutions, and recommendations; and Providing alternative approaches, ideas, or divergent points of view to solve policy, program, or budgetary problems or issues within an organization. (Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.) NOTE: Applicants must submit a copy of their transcripts for verification. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
