Minimum Qualifications for Transportation Assistant GS-6. Possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level of GS-5 in Federal service that has equipped me with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience is assigning vehicles, coordinating all fleet activities, planning vehicle usage to maximize utilization rates, budgeting for the vehicle fleet, and maintaining consistency in fleet services; developing programs for service, storage, and maintenance of the equipment and its usage; researching all vehicles including mileage, number of trips and days used ensuring the fleet is right sized and maintained within and General Service Administration standards. The Transportation Assistant is to serve as Assistant Fleet Manager and coordinate the vehicle data submitted by various services within the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC and off care sites for fleet services.
