In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below: To qualify for the GS-14 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level defined as interpreting and/or advising on guidance policies in the area of air emissions; coordinating air quality regulatory program: analyzing or executing regulatory actions related to criteria, hazardous air pollutants, and greenhouse gases; and coaching mentoring or leading others. To qualify for the GS-15 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level defined as developing and disseminating regulations/policies in the area of air emissions; leading or supervising air quality regulatory programs, developing or advising on regulatory actions related to criteria, hazardous air pollutants, and greenhouse gases; and establishing and monitoring performance measures for staff. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of regulatory program management policies and procedures Skill in managing and coordinating rule making strategies Skill in developing and disseminating technical guidance and analyses Skill in organizational management Skill in personnel management Skill in evaluating economic and market force trends to advise on potential stationary source air pollution concerns Skill in oral communication Ability to collaborate with diverse group of professionals Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
