You may qualify at the GS-0501-9 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. Have at least one full-time year (12-months) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to: 1) Review financial reports in order to identify problem areas and recommend solutions; 2) Analyze financial obligations and expenditures to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; 3) Advise management on procurements and/or purchase requests; and 4) Recognize and apply problem solving to complex problems. OR B. Have a master’s or equivalent graduate degree in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or possession of a LL.B. or J.D degree, if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Project Management. (You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts). OR C. Have a combination of education and experience as listed above. (You MUST submit supporting academic transcripts). Possession of the following competencies: Financial Management: Prepares, justifies, and/or administers the budget for program areas; plans, administers, and monitors expenditures to ensure cost-effective support of programs and policies; assesses financial condition of an organization. Principles of Finance: Knowledge of the basic principles, practices, and methods of financial management to include requisitions, apportionments, allotments, fiscal management, activity reporting, and fiscal year guidelines. Problem Solving: Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; generates and evaluates alternative solutions; makes recommendations. Note: Subject matter experts will evaluate the first three (3) pages of work experience in your resume based on these competencies. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
