SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: In addition to meeting the Basic Requirements listed under the Education section, you must possess the following specialized experience depending on the grade you’re applying for: NN-03: A qualified candidate’s online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower NNSA pay band level or GS grade level (NN-02 or GS-11) in the Federal Service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: Applying professional engineering or physical sciences concepts, theories, and practices. Examples of Qualified Experience: 1. Evaluates policies and program objectives programs to include developing strategic planning, programmatic alignments, budget justifications and long range budget estimates for nuclear stockpile programs. 2. Prioritizes investments, aligns resources with mission requirements, and integrates elements of infrastructure modernization and capability sustainment. 3. Works within an acquisition process for major capital construction projects to deploy capabilities in time to meet the department’s needs. 4. Communicates and defends technical topics and programs to senior government officials. Your application and resume should demonstrate that you possess the following competencies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. A successful candidate will serve as a General Engineer/Physical Scientist in the NNSAs Office of Defense Programs responsible for professional Program Management and Technical duties to execute NNSAs Depleted Uranium Modernization mission for the Nuclear Security Enterprise, specifically in the Office of Strategic Materials Production Modernization (NA-192).
