LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

GS-9: Your resume must have one year of Logistics Management Specialist specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector supporting afloat Supply Department operations for all aspects of shipboard support, Department of Defense (DoD) logistics, applying supply management principles. I have experience independently analyzing logistics management operation in support of ships. I also have experience in the resolution of more complicated operation shortfalls, limitations and other conditions related to ships within their operational control that impacts logistics initiatives. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Accept problems and suggestions from assigned units, analyze service providers’ support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements to shipboard activities; 2) Provide assistance with ordering, manifesting, delivery and turn-in material, which may include material identified as stock, open purchase or ship/submarine’s store material; and 3) Apply a practical knowledge of well-established and commonly applied supply and logistics management principles, concepts, methodologies, to resolve logistics support/service problems when such work requires the applicant of judgement and analysis. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Accept problems and suggestions from assigned units, analyze service providers’ support methods to determine deficiencies and recommend possible improvements to shipboard activities with the help of Senior Logistics Management Specialists; 2) Provide assistance with ordering, manifesting, delivery and turn-in material, which may include material identified as stock, open purchase or ship/submarine’s store material; and 3) Apply a practical knowledge of well-established and commonly applied supply and logistics management principles, concepts, methodologies, to resolve logistics support/service problems when such work requires the applicant of judgement and analysis.
