Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Installing and configuring firewalls (i.e., Cisco, Juniper, McAfee, or equivalent) and network operating systems (i.e., Windows Server, Virtual Machine (VM)ware, Unix, z/OS, or equivalent); experience working with Storage Area, Local Area, and Wide Area networks (i.e., setting up, providing technical support, and/or maintaining networks); experience using database query language (i.e., Structured Query Language-SQL, Data Manipulation Language-DML, or equivalent) to communicate with database management systems. Must have qualifying experience as well as one year specialized experience at the next lower level or equivalent. OR Education: Must have Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, information systems management, or technology management; or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in or one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. Note: Experience above should demonstrate these four competencies: Attention to Detail – Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service-Such as providing assistance to both internal and external customers; assessing customers’ needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction. Oral Communication- Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving – Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR – Resource Management, Network Operations. This position is guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours but can be scheduled to a maximum of 40 hours per week.
