SUPERVISORY TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST

Current Department of Army Civilian Employees Applying on Time-Limited Assignments Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 2 YEARS by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition, at management’s discretion. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, which includes 1) planning, directing, coordinating a complex transportation program related to the worldwide movement of personal property and personnel (military and civilian); 2) procuring the most effective transportation to move large groups of personnel by air and ground; 3) establishing policies and procedures to meet requirements of a Transportation Management Program and 4) planning and assigning quality work to be accomplished by subordinates. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Managing Human Resources Manpower & Personnel Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Transportation Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
