To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or Three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such degree; or One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Examples include applying emergency management knowledge to develop new approaches, methods, or procedures; developing and applying local, State, and Federal emergency services, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines including field operations, disaster preparation, and medical assistance; coordinating emergency management training activities and the development of intraoperative communications. This position is located in the Division of Professional Quality Services, Northern Navajo Medical Center, Shiprock, NM. The Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for providing overall direction and leadership for service unit emergency preparedness (EP) operations as they relate to Shiprock Service Unit community disaster response and daily operations. This position reports to the Quality Assessment Officer.
