This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone–no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Selective Placement Factor: This position requires possession of a Professional Registration: Professional Engineering (PE), Professional Architect (AIA), or Professional Geologist. About the Position: Serve as the Resident Engineer with direct responsibility for field and contract administration work associated with the construction program assigned to the Resident Office. Supervise the Resident contract administration staff and work operations. Apply full professional engineering knowledge together with practical knowledge of construction methods and techniques in accomplishing assignments.
