NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected individual must be assigned to a compatible military position in the following AFSC upon date of hire: AFSC 1D7XXX. Aptitude scores can be checked on the vMPF or at the Customer Service in the Force Support Squadron and physical profile in the medical squadron. Military grade inversion within the full-time work force is not permitted. The military grade of the full time supervisor must equal or exceed the military grade of personnel supervised. Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate Specialized Experience: Must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent) in the competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities listed. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities (KSAs): Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a separate sheet(s) addressing the Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) and how they relate to work experience, education or training. Skill to provide administrative control and technical supervision over personnel responsible for oversight of network services functions and systems administration of information technology. Knowledge of Communications Flight organizational structure and programs administered by each section in order to establish short and long range communications goals and priorities to meet Wing IT requirements. Skill to review, revise, and develop policies to govern IT activities and present recommendations to higher-level management. Skill to provide authoritative technical advice/solutions to communications customers and ensure an integrated approach to satisfy requirements.
This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (PLCYPLN), Position Description Number NGD2173P01 and is part of 114 CF in Sioux Falls, SD. This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service position. A Title 5 announcement will run concurrently, only one will be selected.
