Assisting with managing the day-to-day administrative support functions such as logistics, travel and records management; 2. Preparing reports and/or spreadsheets for office personnel to analyze data; And 3. Using office automation tools and technology such as database management, Information Technology and Closed Circuit Television to assist with administrative programs. OR Education: Have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts for verification.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This position is located in the Defense Legal Services Agency, Office of Military Commissions, Office of the Chief Prosecutor, Victim-Witness Assistance Program (VWAP). The Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director, VWAP, to include but not limited to serving as liaison for administrative, information technology, database management, transportation & logistics & Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) issues concerning the VWAP Office.
