Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for NF-1016-11. Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the federal NF-09 level, planning and implementing education programs in an art museum for a multi generational audience. How you will be evaluated: You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications for this position. This vacancy utilizes a multiple hurdle assessment process to determine the qualifications of applicants. The first hurdle consists of applicants completing an online occupational questionnaire related to the major duties and competencies of the position. The second hurdle consists of you submitting a portfolio that shows samples of your writing, editorial, and overall publishing experience. Writing Sample: Applicants who are referred to the hiring office for selection consideration may be required to submit writing and/or work samples as part of the interview/selection process. Teaching – Skill in writing curriculums and planning gallery experiences in order to help educate students. Program Coordination – Ability to coordinate and administer all aspects of a program. Art – Knowledge of art history and art studio practices to help teach and engage students. This position is located in the Department of Public Programs of the National Gallery of Art’s Division of Learning and Engagement which falls under the Exhibitions, Programs, and Audience Engagement Executive Officer. Under the leadership of the Manager of Multi-generational Programs and the Head of Public Programs, the incumbent is responsible for preparing and implementing multi-generational programs, onsite, online, and in community settings.
