Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience managing and directing installation support services directly affecting the accomplishment of a multi-service operation and a complex multi-mission military installation. Experience in providing program direction, objectives, strategies and evaluations for installation support functions, operations and activities that include financial management, contracting services, law enforcement and security, housing management, family and community activities, internal review, equal opportunity, and personnel functions, technical and professional services including public works, environmental, energy, fire and emergency services. Experience managing and evaluating the impact of operational factors, assessing fiscal soundness and taking appropriate action to ensure the operational success of installation programs and activities. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
About the Position: Serves as the Joint Base Chief of Staff at the Joint Base Lewis McChord, WA. Manages and directs garrison operations of a joint, complex, multi-mission garrison with tenant activities including other Army and DoD agencies. Provides administrative program direction to various civilian directors and special staff involved in a wide variety of functional program areas. Formulates goals, policies, and objectives for the garrison.
