You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized experience for the GS-9 is one year of experience at the GS-7 level, or equivalent in other public or private sectors, that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position must include: Conducting security surveys, audits, probes, or project reviews to identify work related errors or security issues. AND Safeguarding and handling sensitive records, reports, materials, and securities. OR You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree. or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. or LL.B. or J.D., if related. OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Only graduate level education in excess of the first 18 semester hours (27 quarter hours) may be combined to be considered for qualifying education. To combine education and experience, the total percentage of experience at the required grade level compared to the requirement, as well as the percentage of completed education compared to the requirement must equal at least 100 percent. In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-09, you must have been at the GS-07 level for 52 weeks.
This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent is a Security Specialist in the Security Management Division (BX) which has agency-wide responsibility for personnel, physical and holdings security; oversight of controlled-access information, physical accessibility, emergency planning, and workplace health and safety at NARA-occupied Presidential Libraries and Federal Records Centers and other NARA leased facilities.
