Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the DE-04 level in the Federal Service which includes: (1) Serves as aircraft mechanic on rotary wing and/or fixed wing aircraft, providing for the initial installation and modification of non-standard aircraft components, systems, and assemblies on experimental, test or pre-production aircraft serving as testbeds; (2) Skills to coordinate with Information Systems providers, such as Aircraft Classification Number (ACN), Aviation Ground Support Equipment, Aircraft Survivability Equipment, Automated Weight and Balance System; (3) Maintain, disassemble, repair, and reassemble test, pre-production, modified and standard support rotary and fixed wing airframes, systems, assemblies and equipment as project workload dictates; (4) Inspects and identifies discrepancies and performs necessary correction by troubleshooting the source of malfunction and making necessary adjustments, repairs or replacement of defective components or parts; (5) Provides aviation maintenance expertise to the organization and to test teams with review of prototype / test article technical data packages. About the Position: This position is located at Fort Eustis, VA. This is a STRL Demonstration Project Position. This position is located at the Aviation & Missile Center, Technology Development Directorate, Flight Test Division.
