GS-11 Grade Level: In order to qualify for a Training Specialist, GS-1712 position at the GS-11 level, you must have: A. completed 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree, with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, or completed the requirements for such a degree in a related field; OR B. 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in developing training products; reviewing and evaluating audiovisual aids; preparing surveys to evaluate training program effectiveness; and assisting in coordinating training and curriculum development activities.; OR C. a combination of post baccalaureate education and experience that meets 100% of the qualification requirements for this position. GS-12 Grade Level: In order to qualify for a Training Specialist, GS-1712 position at the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: developing complete, full-length courses (or major course units of comparable scope) in an established subject field; reviewing and assessing a training program’s use of facilities for instructional purposes; establishing and maintaining a current database of documentation; and planning and conducting validity and reliability studies to analyze test items prepared by instructors. GS-13 Grade Level: In order to qualify for a Training Specialist, GS-1712 position at the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: planning and conducting studies that evaluate and predict program achievements and student performance; analyzing requests for new training programs and changes to existing training programs; evaluating training policies, curricula, instructional methods and techniques, quality of instruction, adequacy and utilization of training aids and devices, facilities and equipment used in training courses serving as advisor to management in the planning, development, presentation, and evaluation of complex training and educational programs. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
