Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing manual and electronic methods for monitoring personnel access into restricted areas; providing protective service work in guarding and protecting property; and performing motorized and foot patrol security checks in order to detect potential problem situations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Individual Occupational Requirement: Experience such as work with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; or maintaining order and protecting life. Such experience must have provided a knowledge of protective systems and techniques. Acceptable experience includes service in the Armed Services or Coast Guard that involved the performance of guard duties on a regular or intermittent basis. For Security Guard positions in a hospital setting, experience as a psychiatric nursing assistant or a similar position safeguarding patients is qualifying. About the Position: This position is located in Winn Army Community Hospital, Fort Stewart, GA. Incumbent is responsible for patrolling the premises, crime prevention, personnel security, and monitoring personnel access for the hospital campus and outlying clinics and buildings. This position is restricted to persons entitled to Veterans Preference; if there are no Veterans preference eligible applicants available, non-preference applicants may be considered.
