This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the work of a Powered Support Systems Mechanic without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by performing the following tasks: 1) Installing and repairing major components (e.g., engines, generators, alternators, gears, compressors, and hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical components) of powered support systems; 2) Using tools and equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pressure gages, leak detectors to test and repair equipment; and 3) Following work orders, standing operating procedures, and oral instructions to perform work on electric power distribution systems and/or powered support equipment.
