Only experience and education obtained by 11/27/2024 will be considered. In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification. Minimum Qualification GS-5 Three (3) years of general work experience, which 1 year is equivalent to a GS-04. Specialized experience may include: 1) Assists with work order input and monitors the resolution of repairs, maintenance, and janitorial services; 2) Assists with preparation of reports of findings involving the operation and maintenance of building systems and equipment; and 3) Maintains a log for all controlled mail, such as; delivery-confirmation packages, registered, certified, and insured mail; OR Successfully completed 4 year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree’s. (One year of full-time undergraduate study is defined as 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours). Note: Applicants who select this response must provide transcripts as verification of their education; OR A combination of graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meets qualification requirements for this position. Minimum Qualification GS-7 One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-5 grade-level in the Federal service. Specialized experience may include: 1) Interacts with representatives of the General Services Administration (GSA) Public Building Service (PBS) property managers, lessor representatives, and occupants regarding routine building management issues; 2) Assists with complaint(s) investigations and, prepares supporting documentation for reporting; 3) Processes outgoing mail and checks for proper addressing, packaging, and marking (stamping) in accordance with postal and shipping guidance; and 4) Assists with conference and/or set up for meetings and events; OR Completion of a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor’s degree in a field of study that demonstrates the competencies required by this position with either (1) a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale; (2) a 3.5 GPA based on a 4.0 scale for all required courses completed in a qualifying major field of study at either the time of application or during the last two years of your undergraduate curriculum; (3) class standing of upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or a major subdivision of the college; or, (4) membership in a National Scholastic Honor Society certified by the Association of College Honor Societies, excluding freshman honor societies; OR One full year of graduate level education in an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in one of the following related fields; OR A combination of education and experience as described in 1 and 2 above which together equals 100% of the requirement. Minimum Qualification GS-9 One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade-level in the Federal service. Specialized experience may include: 1) Responds to unusual off-hours building issues, such as water leaks or security breaches; 2) Prepares reports of findings involving the operation and maintenance of building systems and equipment, personnel, materials, workmanship, condition in need of repair, and various other related concerns; 3) Assists with incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and shipments; manages postage account, mail meters, and scales; receives, sorts, and distributes parcels to building tenants; and 4) Experience with managing a secure mail screening facility; OR Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master’s degree or equivalent graduate degree or LL.B. or J.D. if related to position to be filled.; OR A combination of graduate level education beyond the first year of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meets qualification requirements for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The incumbent serves as a General Services and Facilities Management Specialist responsible for assisting in the operational management support for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Headquarters facility in Falls Church, VA, and supporting the Directors Suite in the Stewart Lee Udall Building, Washington D.C.
