INTERDISCIPLINARY ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER/PHYSICAL SCIENTIST

This position has a Selective Placement Factor (SPF) if applying for the Environmental Engineer (0819) series which is – current registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any state, District of Columbia, Guam or Puerto Rico. You MUST provide a copy of your current registration with your application. A copy of a wall certificate that does not have an expiration date will not serve to verify this requirement. In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Conducting integrated external assessments or audits of the Environmental Management System (EMS) at installations to identify deficiencies and areas of concern; 2) Conducting and providing Environmental Management System (EMS) training to installation personnel and identify deficiencies and areas of concern; 3) Reviewing procedures, management initiatives, Best Management Practices and other required documentation related to the installation’s EMS implementation and sustainability; 4) Serving independently as the Lead/Team Auditor during audits at installations; 5) Providing and overseeing quarterly tracking and execution status of EMS and compliance findings as required; 6) Planning and scheduling audits and identifying an interdisciplinary audit team for each audit; 7) Providing post-audit technical support, training and guidance on EMS requirements to execute implementation of annual internal audits, procedures, recommendations and corrective actions at installations; and 8) Maintaining communication and coordination with installations units to ensure successful implementation of their EMS program.
