Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. To qualify for GS-14, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level: Implementing Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS) at a Center for tracking of hazardous materials and hazardous waste; Preparing Center specific plans for the implementation of HMMS; Designing and implementing a charging practice for reclaiming the costs to implement a hazardous materials or waste program; Collaborating with Center Cross Functional Teams and Enterprise Communities of Practice. As an Environmental Protection Specialist you will lead efforts by NASA to implement the Hazardous Materials Management System (HMMS) tool at each Center. You will lead efforts to prepare and execute an Agency-wide plan to develop and implement HMMS. You will lead efforts to prepare a template for Center-specific HMMS transition and implementation plans. You will lead efforts to support each Center as they transition to and implement the HMMS tool at their center.
